Using the GAME Plan Process with Students

I teach at a technology magnet school where each student has their own laptop. Technology is something we use on a daily basis. Creating the GAME Plan forced me to revisit the NETS-S and think about what I need to do to help my students develop proficiency in the technology standards and indicators.

As I continue to implement my GAME Plan at the beginning of the new year, I will continue to monitor and evaluate the progress made by me and my students. I look forward to increasing their knowledge in the area of technology related careers. I think students will be surprised at all the different ways technology can be used in a wide variety of careers. Students will also benefit from lessons on internet safety as well as application updates.

  1. Hi Terri,
I know that the students probably don't think about the role technology will play in their future jobs, but I imagine it will be a significant one. It is important that we inform students of these possibilities and make technology's use applicable to real life. Good job!

  2. Terri,

It seems even more important for you and your students to constanly evaluate your NET standards. Were your students aware of them before? Is NET-S widely communicated among your school? Having your students create a GAME Plan should benefit your GAME plan as well.

  3. Jenelle,

Yes, our students are aware of the NET-S. They are posted on our school website and we have posters hanging in each of our classrooms. Since our school is a technology magnet school the
    NET-S are important to know.

  4. Sounds like this class was easier for you than me because you were already familiar with the NETS-S.
